In my reading class i wrote an essay on if casinos are good or bad on the reservation.
Casinos on the reservation are a good idea. It's a good idea because there are a lot of jobs, the elders have something fun to do, and the tribes will make a lot of money.
When casinos are on the reservation, then there will be more jobs for the people who live close by the casino. There are a lot of people who live on the reservation and some of them may work out of town like here in Albuquerque, but if there were a casino back where they live then hey can find a job at the casino and save gas and money. According to the National Indian Gaming Association there are over 400,000 total jobs from the casinos.
The elders have something fun to do like go to the casino! Mom's, dad's, auntie's, uncle's, grandpa's, and grandma's don't just want to stay home and do nothing but watch T.V. They want to go have fun too! So they go to the casino. on the reservation there is harly anything to do out there, so the elders go to the casino! There is also bingo in a lot of casinos that's where they go to have fun.
From the casinos the tribe makes a lot of money. From the money that was made from the casinos the tribes build programs and they donate to charitable organization. Also the casinos give money the welfare. Well the tribes are making money some special person is winning money to!
That is why casinos are good to have on the reservation. There is a lot of jobs, the elders have something fun to do, and the tribe makes a lot of money.

Music: Important for Survival
For my reading class I wrote a 5 paragraph essay on Music: Luxury or Important for Survival.
My opinion on if music is luxury or important for survival I think it's important for survival. It's important because people use it for their cultures, music helps people with their moods, and music can help you in school.
People say that music is luxury but i think they are wrong because it's important in many cultures to have music. i know that Native Americans have pow-wows and they sing their own songs and they dance. I also think Africans make their own songs and they sing them and dance to them and have their own "pow-wow". But if we didn't have music then we wouldn't be able to sing and dance or have pow-wows. In some cultures they use music for important ceremonies.
People say music doesn't help at school but I think it does! Music helps me do my work in class and that helps me concentrate. When your at school and you need to remember notes for a test or what you need to do as homework you can make a song and just keep singing and listening to it over and over again until you remember it. At some schools they use music to learn some notes . Foe example in my math class we sang a song to remember multiplication.
When some one is sad or just having a bad day then you can listen to music. When your sad you can listen to music and listen to a happy song and make yourself happy. Music encourages me with my moods. A lot of people need music to help them clam down or get their energy out by dancing. They also use it for their therapy and it might be the only way that helps them.

T.V is bad for you!
In my reading class my group and I had to decide if t.v is good or bad for you and write a 5 paragraph essay.
My group topic is T.V is bad for you. T.V is bad for you because people watch it way too much, there is a lot of bad advertising, and people also get lazy watching T.V.
First, why T.V is bad for you is that people watch it way too much. I heard if you watch T.V way too much that you can mess up your eyes from sitting to close to the T.V. If you watch T.V in the dark you can also mess up your eyes. People that are coming home from work are tired and they want to watch T.V so they are watching T.v and they get a headache. When I watch T.V I get sick like a headache and you can get reed of it!
Second, why T.V is bad for you is that there is a lot of bad advertising. People like the advertising but there is just way too much! About On every commercial there is about 5-10 advertising and most of them are trying to sell really bad stuff. The advertising try to get you to but cheap stuff. They also try to get you to but fatty foods.
Lastly, why T.V is bad for you is that people get lazy. People get lazy from watching too much T.V and they don't finish there homework or they just get it done. People think they don't get lazy but they do. Also they don't feel like doing anything like cooking dinner or doing anything but watch T.V.

Emily
One night Emily and her boyfriend were at Emily's house and they were watching a movie when there heard pans moving in the kitchen. They thought it was nothing so they left it. The noise started up again. Both Emily and her boyfriend went to the kitchen and saw that the pans were all over. They stopped the movie and decided to go to bed. In the middle of the night, Emily woke up, and saw that her boyfriend was not in bed. Emily got out of her bed and started walking to the bathroom and on the way there Emily started acting weird as if a demon was in her. The boyfriend walked out and saw Emily being weird. He couldn't do anything so he just left her and he started packing up his stuff and left the house. Later on that night Emily died and the demon took her body. There are still demons waiting in the house waiting for a new couple to move in. The End.

Gregor The Overlander
I'm reading a book in my English class and it's called 'Gregor The Overlander' In the beginning of the story Gregor has said that his dad had run away. Gregor is now the man of the house. He has two little sisters. One is 7 years old and the other is 2 years old. the 7 year old is named Lizzie and the 2 year old is named Margret but they call her boots. Gregor lives with his two sisters, grandma, and his mom. His mom is a hard worker. One day Gregor and Boots his little sister were doing laundry.
